St. Patrick's Day

So, for St. Patrick's Day the kids and I made a Leprechaun trap. We failed to catch him, so we woke up to a bunch of mischief the Leprechaun had caused the night before. He toilet papered the house, placed our cereal all over the house and replaced it with toilet paper, drew a silly face with lipstick on the bathroom mirror, hid my keys in the toaster oven, turned our milk and toilet water green, put diapers in the fridge, and the kids' underwear in the freezer. It was a crazy and fun morning!

We had green pancakes for breakfast. For dinner we ate cornbeef, cabbage and potatoes, with green grapes, kiwis, Bailey's green punch, and green sugar cookie bars. Chase also made the kids banana splits later that night.

More Birthdays...

Joelle turned 1 on Feb. 26th and Chase turned 34 on March 5th! Since Joelle was fighting a double ear infection on her birthday and Chase had to work, we kept things pretty low key. We were originally going to invite a few friends over, but had to cancel because of sick kids. I made puffed pancakes for breakfast for Joelle's birthday, hoping she'd eat something. Her appetite has been lacking for a while since being sick, but she did humor me with a few bites and then threw the rest on the floor. After breakfast we opened Joelle's presents and she played the rest of the day, that is when she wasn't feeling too sick or her sisters and brother weren't stealing her toys (seriously, I don't understand why older siblings do this, especially when it's baby toys that are involved). I didn't bother making a cake, because she wouldn't have eaten any of it. We ended up having Chase and Joelle share a Costco Red Velvet cake on Chase's birthday.

It has been a crazy year, and I can't believe my baby is already 1, time just seems to fly by sometimes. I won't lie, Joelle has been a challenge, but also a joy. She is a crazy girl who is too chicken to walk and instead walks around on her knees, I guess I need to get some video of it. She loves to play with her older siblings and lights up when they come home from school. She loves to dance to music and unfortunately has developed a liking to a certain Youtube video that Chase played one too many times. Fortunately, she's liking a few other songs to take its place, I hope. She is growing up so fast and I'm sure will be walking soon, since she has taken a few steps, but is just too afraid right now to fully commit. She also loves to climb on things and will push chairs around to get to different places. She's a sneaky little booger and almost made it over the stair gate, she has a great love of climbing stairs. We love our crazy Joelle, especially since she's been recently sleeping through the night more consistently. Happy Birthday Joelle!

Chase's birthday was the week after Joelle's. He had to work the night before so we didn't see him until later the morning of his birthday. I took the kids to the store the night before and they picked out candy and paid for it with their own money to make him a candy bar poster. We hung up balloons and also made him a special breakfast, which was served in courses since I wasn't expecting him as soon as he came home, so for that I apologize Chase. I tried to get Chase to have friends over or something and I'd cook, but he just wanted to relax. Unfortunately, not much relaxing happened since we looked at houses that day as we're looking for a new place to live, but Chase was a good sport. We ordered Domino's Pizza and Wings and watched Netflix movies the rest of the night. We also enjoyed the Red Velvet cake. I'm so very thankful for my awesome husband, and I hope that he had a good birthday even if it wasn't spectacular. I'm so happy to have him for my best friend and eternal companion! Happy Birthday Chase!

Pictures to come later.
